Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nicholas Joaquin Oronoz, 34, of Fort Mohave, Sunday (11/19) evening for possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana, possession of narcotic drugs and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies. Approximately 8:40 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4500 block of Highway 95 and contacted Oronoz, the driver. A computer check showed the registration was expired on the vehicle. Deputies smelled a fresh odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Deputies questioned Oronoz and he said that there are some roaches, used marijuana cigarettes, in the vehicle. Oronoz advised that he does not have a medical marijuana card. A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe, glass pipe with residue, a spoon with black residue, a small plastic bag containing a black substance which field tested positive for heroin and 7 plastic bags containing marijuana. Oronoz was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
