Attempted Suicide at Mohave County Jail by Bullhead Resident

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officers responded to an attempted suicide on Tuesday (7/10). At approximately 4:50 PM, an inmate at the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility alerted Officers to an inmate attempting to hang himself. The inmate was identified as John Jesus Rodriguez, 29 of Bullhead City.
Detention Officers who responded began life saving measures until medical staff arrived on scene. Rodriguez was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, and further transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas where he is listed in critical condition. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are handling the investigation, which is ongoing. It was reported that earlier that day, Rodriguez made comments to staff about “Never seeing the light of day” in regards to his charges.

John Jesus Rodriguez was booked into Mohave County Jail on Friday (7/6) on 23 charges, to include Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, and Prohibited Weapons Possession.
