Bullhead City Police Detectives are investigating a fraudulent scheme where a woman posed as an auditor and stole money from a local store.

On Sunday, October 29th at around 9:45 p.m., an employee at the 99 Cent Store, 3600 block of Highway 95, reported receiving a phone call about a store audit that needed to be conducted. The caller gave instructions and advised that someone would knock at the back door of the store.

A woman who said her name was “Katherine” came to the back door. The female suspect did not make any threats and did not have a weapon. She later left with an undisclosed amount of cash as the employees were instructed to give her. The suspect was described as being very calm that the employees did not even realize it was a scam until after the woman had left with the money.

The female suspect (surveillance photos attached) is described as a thin white female, short brown hair with blonde highlights, wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans and was pulling a small rolling suitcase.

This same scam has also reportedly occurred in Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV.

If anyone has any information, please contact the Bullhead City Police Department at (928) 763-1999 and ask to speak with detectives.
