Bullhead City Fire Station #2, 1230 Highway 95, was evacuated for approximately 2 hours, Tuesday, after a bomb threat.
On September 26th at about 1 p.m., fire department personnel reported that a man, 58-year-old Thaddeus Richard Mazur, came into the station and made statements of an explosive device on his vehicle that was parked outside.
The station was evacuated and Mazur told police a very detailed story about his cousin being kidnapped by gang members and they put a bomb under his vehicle. The Bullhead City Bomb Squad, with assistance from Kingman Police Bomb Squad, responded and the bomb robot cleared the vehicle. No device was located. Officers also followed up on Mazur’s kidnapping story, which was also unfounded. Mazur told police that he had recently used methamphetamine.
The report will be forwarded to the Mohave County Attorney’s Office for review of possible charges.
