On Thursday, June 28th around 9 a.m., Bullhead City Police were called to the 200 block of Marina Boulevard to assist Code Enforcement with a resident who was confrontational over a scheduled yard abatement.
Officers contacted Cherice Marie Wheeler, 32, and her three children (ages 8, 9, 16). The living conditions inside the residence were deplorable and unsafe, with animal feces and trash everywhere, exposed wiring and there was a strong odor of marijuana.
Narcotic detectives responded and obtained a search warrant. Several marijuana bongs, pipes and a useable amount of marijuana were found in the parents’ bedroom. The residence was later found to also be infested with mice and bedbugs. The Department of Child Safety was contacted and placed the children with a family member.
Wheeler was arrested for child abuse x3, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman. The father, Jeffrey Lewis II, 31, was not on scene. Charges against Lewis are pending
