Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Johnny Ramirez Jr., 49, of Fort Mohave, Tuesday (9/12) afternoon on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felonies. Approximately 3:17 p.m., deputies responded to a business located in the 5100 block of Highway 95 in reference to a suspicious incident. Dispatch advised that a reporting party, an employee said that he received a threatening text message from Ramirez stating that he is enroute with a gun. Dispatch further advised that the phone line disconnected after the employee said Ramirez arrived with a gun. Investigations determined that when Ramirez arrived at the business in his vehicle, an employee approached him. The employee, a 50-year-old male victim was able to disarm Ramirez by pushing down the trunk lid after Ramirez pulled a rifle out of its case. The victim advised that Ramirez calmed down and was going to speak with another employee. In the meantime, the deputy arrived and was approached by other employees. At this time, the victim observed Ramirez was back at the trunk of the car. The victim ran over and tackled Ramirez and held him until the deputy detained him. The weapon was seized. Deputies contacted the reporting party, a 37-year-old male victim. The victim said that he called 911 after Ramirez threatened him and when Ramirez arrived at the business with a gun. Deputies observed the threatening text messages. Ramirez was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
